Flying Cars and The Marvels of Modern Technology

So we don't have flying cars. So what? Just about every Sci-Fi flick about the future botched that one up. AT&T was bought by Cingular, and calls to moon bases would probably be VoIP, if we had moon bases... sorry Kubrik. On the other hand, we do have portable communication devices - Fine so you got THAT one Rodenberry, but still no transporter, or as they would call it in Blakes 7 "teleporter". Card may have gotten it right with Ender's jewel (earpiece strangely resembling them bluetooth headsets)... but still no Ansible.

If anything is possible, I would love to see a talking and talk-to-able computer. I don't mean them damned replacements for the touch tone phone menu system which works like crap. When I said that they should just get rid of the (touch tone) phone menu system because it was the most annoying thing since waiting on hold... I should have been more specific!!! The voice activated ones are worse. They never work for me... even if I AM in a quiet room. I end up shouting into my phone, and eventually want to throw it from the frustration before that disembodied voice says... "i'm sorry I am having a little trouble hearing you, let me get someone!"

ARRRRRRRRGH!
