:CueCat Perl Script

So, it surprising to see these sites still on the Interweb. I dug up my :CueCat (this free barcode reader that radio shack was giving away back in early 2000 for shopping & tracking reasons which would only work with their website). So the cool part was that you know it was only going to take a matter of time before someone hacked it to make it into a cheap barcode reader... and they did. A script that works really well (under Linux) is cat.pl ). They have others out there, like Java classes, etc. It works with most codes out there, i.e. I scanned my Zip drive: Type: C39 / Code: 1ADN116AFL; barcode on the SCSI terminator for an HP-DL380: Type: C39 / Code: 306810-001; Trader Joe's midsummer night's cream moisturizing lotion: Type: E08 / Code: 00036337.

I dug it up primarily because I want to scan in all my moves, CD's, and books into a database or excel spreadsheet.
