Mike's Party

Hey, so Mike's party ruled. [Do0d he lives on 2nd and Spruce and it's HUGE! He's not paying that much for it too, plus it's flood free since it's on the third floor.] They had ales which I kept drinking all night (some Irish thingy, I should have asked that they keep the bottles for me (when I brew).

Most importantly, it was like getting the whole group together again that ro0led. There was even the virginia contingent! w00t!

Back to Green Party stuff, then the North Star Bar to check out J's band.

Maslow's Pyramid of Needs

Eric Alterman: The Nation 11/15/04 (Faith-based Journalism: The Refs Work Themselves). That article made me think of Maslow's Pyramid of Needs. Combined, it occured to me that those whom are affected the most by the misdeeds of other identify with that person. The people who are getting screwed (economically) by the Republican Party the most are the first in line to back them. They, acting against their best interests, are swept up in rhetoric.

Displacement of hurt and anger are some of the most powerful tools anyone can use against the weak (physically or mentally.) If one cannot comprehend why you're in such a crappy situation, i.e.: San Diego County, resort to some of the worst hatred and bigotry.
